Be it returning a pallet or returning a container, return of a load unit is always a headache. Especially containers. A large percent of what is shipped is air, as people return empty containers (I am sure there is some study or other about exactly how much of all shipment is air!)
Now, there is seemingly an obvious solution. Accordion containers!. That is, full containers fold down like an accordion to a size that has no air.
